VMC Leads Presentation at Business Recovery in the Cloud Seattle Workshop
Redmond, WA (November 7, 2011) -- VMC Consulting is leading a discussion on the operational planning aspects of cloud computing at an upcoming workshop sponsored by Fiber Cloud. The "Business Recovery in the Cloud" breakfast workshop is Wednesday, November 16 in Seattle, Washington at the Westin Hotel, and features experts from VMC Consulting and Microsoft.

As a provider of secure and reliable colocation, high-speed internet connectivity, custom-managed solutions and innovative cloud-hosted software applications, Fiber Cloud designed this event to help attendees understand how to take advantage of cloud computing to maintain and grow business in challenging economic times. Fiber Cloud will present on establishing business resiliency and implementing cloud computing strategies. They will be joined by representatives from Microsoft, who will discuss cloud computing trends and strategic directions for 2012 and beyond.

VMC Consulting will present on operational IT planning for virtualization and cloud strategies. Attendees will learn about VMC's "Assess - Migrate - Manage" model for executing effective cloud computing solutions for their business. The presentation will also feature a checklist of key concerns to take into account when moving technology into the cloud, such as security, accessibility and service level agreements with cloud vendors. VMC's session will be led by Chuck Hobart. Hobart is an Engagement Manager at VMC and has helped organizations optimize technical programs and critical to business information through data center and cloud computing solutions during his 30 year career.

"Cloud computing is an indelible part of today's IT landscape," said VMC's Hobart, "but moving into the cloud isn't a plug and play solution. Running in the Cloud requires seasoned expertise to take advantage of benefits and avoid pitfalls."

The workshop will begin at 7:30 a.m., with breakfast and networking, and the sessions will run from 8:00 a.m. through 9:30 a.m. Attendees who are interested in touring Fiber Cloud's data center facility can take a tour after the workshop concludes. For more information, and to register, visit
