Beyond Bug Counts: VMC to Present on QA Reporting Tools at Better Software 2009
Redmond, WA (June 8, 2009) –After a successful 2008 session, VMC will conduct a presentation at Software Quality Engineering’s 2009 Better Software Conference. Held each year in Las Vegas, NV, the Better Software conference is host to the leading software and hardware application development companies seeking guidance on trends and tools for quality assurance management. VMC’s Senior Engineering Lead Dean Biron will lead the conference session on “Beyond Bug Counts: a Framework for Software Quality Assessment Reporting”.
Biron is a senior engineer in the Hardware and Software Services team at VMC with vast experience in managing project teams through Software Testing and Quality Assurance (QA) methodologies. His presentation will go beyond traditional bug tracking in QA program management, and will address testing focused on the quality characteristics or ‘ilities’ as a way to add significant value to a project, particularly within an AGILE development framework.
Highlights of the session will include a real-world case study set against the Quality Assessment Report created by Biron and his team at VMC. Attendees will be able to see how VMC’s Quality Assessment Report aids in visibility to project issues and in helping management teams make decisions about project direction, timing, and focus. Biron will also speak on the how utilizing assessments during project scoping and initiation phases makes a significant impact on project health and outcome.
