HELPING COMPANIES IMPLEMENT MICROSOFT® TECHNOLOGIES – VMC ACKNOWLEDGED AS A GOLD CERTIFIED PARTNER IN MICROSOFT PROGRAM

Superior Capabilities Earn Top Microsoft Designation for Business Process and Integration (BPI) and Advanced Infrastructure (AI) Competencies

Redmond, Wash. (July 6, 2006) — VMC, a global leader in technology consulting, project management and outsourcing services, has earned the distinction as a Gold Certified Partner in the Microsoft® Partner Program. VMC achieved the Gold Certified Partner status with competencies in two core areas: Business Process and Integration (BPI) and Advanced Infrastructure (AI). VMC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volt Information Sciences, Inc. (NYSE: VOL).

With a long track record for delivering technology services to leading companies around the globe, VMC met the requirements and demonstrated superior levels of expertise for efficient and scalable implementations, capabilities and certification work to meet customers’ needs. The company worked with Microsoft SQL/.NET for the BPI competency designation and used its Microsoft Exchange/Active Directory work to win AI competency.

“Our Gold Certified Partner status demonstrates a proficiency in providing in-depth understanding of Microsoft technology in our service delivery,” said Glenn Hoogerwerf, COO of VMC. “Our service offerings leverage Microsoft technologies to drive value to our customers’ business in the delivery and implementation of its products,” he added.

VMC as a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner

According to Microsoft, the Business Process and Integration competency is designed for partners with proven proficiency in implementing and deploying server-based portals for driving Internet commerce and business applications using Microsoft tools and software. The Advanced Infrastructure competency is designed to showcase a specialization in complex infrastructure solutions, ranging from Microsoft Exchange Server migrations to Active Directory® and Identity Management solutions. As one requirement of attaining Gold Certified Partner status, VMC had to declare a Microsoft Competency. Microsoft Competencies are designed to differentiate a partner’s capabilities with specific Microsoft technologies and real-world experience to customers seeking a particular solution.

As a Gold Certified Partner, VMC receives a rich set of benefits and access to a variety of Microsoft resources for information, training and support. With these, VMC continues to achieve the highest levels of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and hands-on skills for deploying Microsoft technologies for its clients.
VMC employs many Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs) worldwide, who have demonstrated levels of technical expertise and a proven ability to deliver solutions featuring Microsoft products.

The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in October 2003 and represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to the success of its partners worldwide. The program offers a single, integrated framework that recognizes partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace, and delivers more value to help partners’ businesses succeed.
