News: Games Lead Entertainment Industry Growth
A new report from PriceWaterhouse Coopers suggests that videogames will spearhead a major growth spurt for the global entertainment industry between now and 2009. The report predicts that entertainment revenues worldwide will increase 7.3% annually between now and 2009, bringing the industry to $1.9 trillion in total revenues. The videogames industry, however, will grow by 16.5% every year to reach a total of $55 billion by 2009 (not even including hardware/console sales). The Asia-Pacific market is predicted to be the biggest market, but Europe will be the fastest growing.
