2006 Survey in Help Desk, IT Service and Support Industry Trends

According to HDI, the largest help desk organization, customers still want to connect with a live person over the phone if they have a problem or question.
  • 70% of incidents are still being handled via telephone

  • 61% percent of help desk companies noted a rise in calls based on recent technical upgrades, conversions and installations

  • Most amazing is that more than 50% do not measure employee satisfaction at all, and of those who do, nearly 63% indicated that employee satisfaction was quite low
